Callahan Capital Partners chooses Rho Impact for ESG and decarbonization support
Callahan Capital Partners (Callahan), a distinguished leader in repositioning various platforms in the real estate industry, is pleased to announce its strategic partnership with Rho Impact (Rho), a leading developer of climate impact forecasting technology.
This partnership expansion will extend the relationship formed in 2022 to focus on asset decarbonization and long term net-zero planning for the Callahan portfolio, as well as advancing their score on the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB). With 100% year-over-year score improvements on GRESB, Rho will continue serving as Callahan’s partner in providing public-company ESG capabilities and reporting practices through a private platform.
As ESG regulations go into effect in markets around the world, Rho’s Koi Platform will be a critical component of this expanded partnership. Koi enables investors and operators alike to rapidly quantify the potential impact of real assets and activities, leveraging data on over 10,000 technology applications, and empowering smarter, faster, climate-focused decisions. Koi builds on Rho’s leadership as the creator of CRANE, an open-access tool stewarded by Prime Coalition with more than 5,200 global users forecasting potential emissions reduction from emerging technologies.
This partnership strengthens Callahan’s ability to assess investments in asset-level climate technologies and decarbonization strategies while meeting regulatory compliance requirements and demonstrating their commitment to carbon sequestration. This also enables Callahan to directly support tenants, investors, and partners in addressing these challenges as well. The partnership will enable Callahan to make informed, climate-positive decisions that support real-world decarbonization efforts, advancing the net-zero ambitions of Callahan’s key stakeholders.
“This continued collaboration with Rho underscores Callahan’s dedication to setting an operational standard for the real estate we directly influence ,” said Heather Holderman, Callahan’s SVP of Asset Management and ESG. “Our team’s experience in leading large real estate funds and ventures across the country, combined with Rho’s expertise and software tools, will position us as a dedicated steward in decarbonizing the built environment.
“Given Callahan’s experience in large scale portfolio management, we are humbled to continue on this journey together. Its commitment to continuous ESG improvement and integration is invigorating, to say the least, “ said Noah Miller, Rho Impact Co-Founder and Chief Advisory Officer. “We look forward to continuing to help Callahan deliver commercial and climate impact, both for its stakeholders and society at-large.”
