Issues related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) are wide-ranging. Rho Impact provides tailor-made solutions that combine software with experts in order to help organizations of all sizes strategize, set priorities, understand their footprints, and meet their ESG goals. This work is supported by our own superior information management and data analytics services and tools. Rho Impact is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and curious Senior Technical Advisor as we build world-class software and methodologies to help our clients plan, track, and report on their impacts and ESG strategies.
This is an opportunity to help build a cutting-edge advisory and technical analysis function within a mission-driven organization focused on raising the quality of sustainability, impact and ESG analytics available to corporations, investors, and non-profits today. As the Rho Impact Senior Technical Advisor, you will work closely with the Chief Strategist and Head of ESG Advisory Services, as well as the broader advisory practice to address technical needs across our client portfolio, build consulting capacity, and lead client IMM operations. This role will substantially contribute to defining client protocols and best practices and to providing guidance to the broader team on impact assessment methodologies and lessons from the field.

Responsibilities
- Scoping and leading technical advisory projects
- Directing the technical aspects of broader ESG and Impact Measurement advisory projects
- Planning, organizing, and managing multi-month projects in collaboration with clients, Rho Impact employees, and external stakeholders
- Leading meetings with technical executives wherein you design, tailor and report on specific solutions to their unique strategy and technical needs
- Developing training materials for industry professionals to learn state-of-the-art IMM concepts, methodologies and tools
- Developing and refining technical models of low-GHG emerging technologies to support CRANE-based analyses, and training others to do the same
- Supporting our Research Fellow Network and Impact Accounting Internship programs
- Interfacing frequently with our Science team and research analysts to execute high quality secondary research on the emissions impacts of relevant existing or emerging technologies
Requirements
- Graduate degree in a STEM field relevant to sustainability, environmental and climate sciences, and/or impact analytics
- 5+ years of direct experience providing scientific consulting to clients
- 3+ years of experience in growing and managing a team
- Track-record of experience interacting with executives and management teams, investors, financial institutions, Boards of Directors, and entrepreneurs
- Extensive experience synthesizing findings from scientific literature to develop reports with expert insights
- Fluency with the technical details on a variety of sustainability methodologies, frameworks, and technologies
- Clear track record of designing and executing high quality quantitative research
- Experience in energy and/or material modeling and analysis, complex systems analysis, life cycle assessment, and/or GHG emissions accounting strongly preferred
- Experience with impact measurement frameworks preferred
- Enthusiasm to master our software platforms (Rho Impact Platform and CRANE) and further guide their development based on your understanding of client needs
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States, and on a 9-5 schedule generally (any US time zone)
